This is a no thrills straight to business Jamaican restaurant. The food is A+. Say what you want i love restaurants that use rice cookers for their rice. The rice is perfect not too soft and not hard, and using rice cooker is more consistent. I bought oxtail rice and pea, and bought curry goat steam veggie rice and pea. Portions great for the price. The meat were tender juicy cuts of meat. I bought a medium plate and I'm stuffed. I can't imagine ordering a large. The service behind the counter was sweet. Two nice Jamaican woman served me. NO BEEF PATTIES SOLD HERE. Atmosphere was wack due to no Jamaican music playing, and lights were dim.
I ran across this place while passing by. I saw a line of cars out front so I knew they must have delicious food. There’s no dine-in experience currently, only take-out. Masks are required for all to-go orders. The staff were proactive, positive and informative. They wrapped our food perfectly to prevent leaking in bags. When I arrive home to eat, my food was amazing! It was flavorful, fresh and cooked to perfection. When in the Bronx area GO HERE!
I ordered Fish N' Ting on Grub Hub for the first time, I ordered: Chicken Rasta Pasta, Whiting w/peas n' rice, and Dumplings. I have to say that I was very pleased with the delivery time, the food arrived hot, the portion size was plentiful, but most of all the food was so delicious. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant. If you haven't tried them yet, you should do so....you will not be disappointed...
This place give alot of food. Lol Oxtails are tender, didnt like how the food was handled looked messy and unsanitary but I heard those are the best places lol a lot of choices. Customer wasnt to friendly maybe because we came at almost closing time. But over all it was ok. I wouldn't go again though.
I'm a huge fan of Fish N' Ting! The food is always on point. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here. I typically order in advance and pick up. If you're getting the Rasta Pasta or Steamed Fish they tell you it usually takes 15-20 minutes (it's really more like 30+ minutes). The front is very unassuming and you could miss it between the auto-shops. When you go inside there is a small bar on the right and straightforward is where you can order food to go or get a table to dine in. There is also seating in the back that's outside (it's covered) with a bar area as well. On this occasion, I dined inside and our group ordered the callaloo spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken, shrimp rasta pasta and seafood pasta. We also had two drinks. The food is always good but the rasta pasta is supposed to be spicy but this time around it wasn't. The callaloo spring rolls were really good and spicy. The food was also lukewarm which was a disappointment. The drinks were very sweet which is expected for what we got but it tasted like we were drinking syrup and not a mixed drink with alcohol. Now for the service. The service here is always so spotty. I feel like it depends on the day and the person who ends up serving you. For this visit, the person who served us just wasn't friendly at all. She never introduced herself and it seemed the entire time she was avoiding us. We actually received great service from another waitress who was serving other tables. Recommendations: Goat soup, chicken soup, red snapper (steamed) and rasta pasta's. I'll still visit because the food is good but I would more than likely not visit for dine-in service again.
A friend recommended this place to me. When the food was delivered through a delivery service the experience was worth it! The portion was right. The taste was good. The price was decent. After that experience. I ordered several times from there. The location doesn't have parking like that. The place doesn't have ample seating like that. I only saw two booths. The service is good; although is depends on the time of day in my opinion. The ladies work there are pleasant and soothing to the eyes. ~The End~
